Host checklist

Help the round run smoothly

  • Ask everyone to answer the question they actually see instead of trying to create a deliberately confusing response.
  • Read every answer before opening the vote so the first confident player does not steer the room too early.
  • Keep the discussion about the answers, not personal pressure on the suspected player.

Example

What a round can look like

Most players might answer “Where would you go for a quiet weekend?” while one player answers “Where would you go for an exciting weekend?” A reply such as “a cabin in the mountains” could fit either question, so the group has to compare the full set of answers before accusing anyone.

Here’s how a round works

    Read your question

    Most players get the same question. One player gets a different one.

    Answer privately

    Type an honest answer without showing anyone else.

    Compare answers

    Read the answers together and listen for anything that feels slightly off.

    Vote

    Pick the player you think saw the different question.

    Reveal

    Find out who had to bluff and what their question was.

Drinking version

Same game, a little extra

The drinking version uses the same questions and adds a quick drink result once the liar is revealed.

For players of legal drinking age. Non-alcoholic drinks work too.

Common questions

Before your group starts

Does the liar have to invent a false answer?

No. They answer their different question honestly. The mismatch between the two questions creates the bluffing challenge.

Are answers shown with player names?

The game controls the reveal and voting flow so the room can compare answers and then decide who received the different prompt.

Can the questions be very different?

They are designed to be similar enough that answers can overlap. That keeps the odd answer debatable instead of immediately obvious.
